DON'T

When we hear the word “don’t,” we immediately think prohibition—don’t cheat, don’t lie, don’t steal. This study will show us how “don’t” is frequently used in Scripture as an exhortation. For example, the first message of the series will focus on a phrase often repeated in Scripture: “Do not be afraid.” God’s Word exhorts us to live in faith rather than fear, to be overcome by worship rather than worry, and to serve courageously rather than cowardly. In Romans 8:15, the apostle Paul wrote, “The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship.” You “don’t” want to miss out on this opportunity to be encouraged by God’s Word.
