I started music ministry when I was 5 years old with the rest of my family at an old country church in Dozier, TX. This is where I started learning to pick out hymns and began to learn to play guitar for special music in high school. Also, during high school youth group God began to transform my life through contemporary worship music. During a youth rally my Senior year of high school, I surrendered my life to the ministry.
Music ministry continued during college at McMurry University. Here, I started playing bass for a Christian rock and worship band named Burgundy Road. God blessed us to play worship full-time at churches, D-Nows, and summer camps across the southern United States, and record several albums together. This time of life will always hold a special place in my heart; laughing hysterically traveling in an old van with 4 life-long brothers, seeing God moving in 1000 of lives through worship, and seeing ministry done in 100’s of church, settings, and different denominations.
God called me from a place of comfort in Burgundy Road to both go and graduate from Logsdon Seminary (Hardin Simmons University) and become a worship leader at First Baptist Church Clyde. At FBC Clyde, God used all of my previous music ministry experiences to lead worship at an intergenerational blended congregation.
During this journey, God blessed me with a beautiful and amazing wife, Shelly. We have been blessed with a son, Hunter and a daugher, Harper.
